A true masterpiece from the late 19th century. Despite its age-related condition issues, this Luri Bakhtiari is a tour de force of tribal color. Strong yellows, vibrant greens, and great aqua blues come together in a finely knotted composition that rewards close looking. The wool-on-wool construction and fine knotwork speak to the skill of the weaver. Its days on the floor may be behind it, but in the home of a collector who values artistry over perfection, this rug has few equals.
